LETTER FROM THE CHAIR
Dear CEUG members,
Fall is upon us and it is the time of the year once again where we can all connect and learn together as a community! With last year’s success and overall positive reception, I am pleased to announce that “Webinar Week” is back for its second year and will be held on November 22 to 24, 2022.
We are currently looking for presenters and topics of interest across Ellucian’s suite of products (Banner, Colleague, PowerCamput). Topics for Webinar Week 2022 may range from experiences with Ellucian products, institutional projects, challenges, and innovations over the last year.
We believe that you, our members, are our best resource in shaping this year’s event. Help us spread the word about Webinar Week 2022 to your colleagues and to any member of the CEUG community who may benefit from this. If you or know someone who may want to present, please contact info@ceug.ca or use the page provided. Please know that by sharing your experiences, you may positively impact other CEUG members' journeys.
We thank you in advance for your contribution to this thriving community and we very much look forward to virtually meeting you soon!
Sincerely,
Ali Entezari

New Appointment to the Board of Directors
The Board is pleased to welcome Dana Mackfall, Manager of Student Financial Services and Financial Aid at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario to the Board of Directors. Dana will be joining the rest of the team to assist in the building of the strategic and tactical plans for CEUG moving ahead. Dana will be championing the marketing and communications role and introducing Colleague birds of Feather events with fellow Colleague users.
Colleague Birds of a Feather
Colleague Birds of a Feather (BOFs) is an informal get-together of Colleague users to discuss your experiences, issues, challenges, successes, and best practices and ask questions of other Colleague users. BOF events provide a casual atmosphere for colleagues to meet, exchange ideas and share information with Colleague institutions across the country. This is your time and space, Colleague users, to discuss everything and anything Colleague!
Do you sometimes say to yourself “there’s got to be a better way to do this?” or “how do other institutions handle this process?”, this is your chance to find out the answers to your burning questions and to collaborate and come up with solutions together to make efficiencies. If you have a specific topic in mind that you want answers to, please submit them for the upcoming BOF by filling out this form.
Facilitated by Dana Mackfall, BOFs will be held in November, March and July each year. Please reach out anytime, Dana can be contacted by email at mackfalld@nipissingu.ca or on Microsoft Teams or by calling (705) 474-3450 ext. 4619.
This year for the Canadian Ellucian Users Group
March 3, 2022 - CEUG has hosted national conferences since 2015 with an attendance of approximately 500 registrants each year. Due to the global pandemic, we all had to pause any in-person conference. Since then we have pivoted to developing an online presence active throughout the year with news and events for our Canadian institutions and supporting our corporate sponsors. CEUG.CA serves as a focal point for Canadian Ellucian clients and their valued vendors together virtually to share and learn from each other. This year, we plan for the following actions:
- Increase the Virtual Presence and CEUG Membership for support and advocacy
- Virtual collaborations between institutions including webinars
- Virtual Corporate Sponsorship to support CEUG and our members with information on solutions and services
- CEUG 2022 Webinar Week
- Point of Contact for members, Ellucian and Corporate Sponsors
- Planning for 2023

October 7, 2021

Dear CEUG members,
As the Chair of Ellucian User Group (CEUG) and on behalf of other board members, we are pleased to announce our “Webinar Week” on October 19-21, 2021.
As a volunteer-led group we have always been aiming to keep our bonds as a community strong by organizing annual in-person conferences, but with the Covid-19 pandemic being still around, we came up with “Webinar Week” idea to keep everyone safe while still in contact with other fellow higher education professionals.
We are currently in the process of finalizing the sessions’ schedule, and we are accepting presentations from members on Ellucian-related topics such as any experiences with Ellucian products, institutions’ projects and challenges over the last year, and any other related topics worth sharing with other CEUG members. Please feel free to spread the word to your respective institutions’ colleagues in order for us to receive more diverse presentation sessions in our Webinar Week.
We wish you, dear members, all the best for the upcoming Fall term and look forward to meeting you during our webinar week soon.

New Chair to the Board
The Board is honoured to welcome Ali Entezari as the new chair of the Board of Directors. Ali is a current member and the Manager of Institutional Research + Applications at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. We are grateful and excited that Ali has stepped up to this position and will bring his unique talents, expertise and perspectives to the goals of the organization in order to further our vision.

Most importantly, we credit and thank Adrian's leadership during the course of the pandemic who effectively delivered the vision of an online community presence for CEUG during the past 6 months in his tenure as Chair.
Farewell to Outgoing Board members: Jen Heard (NVIT) and Tessa Quewezance (NVIT)
The Board of Directors would like to thank Jen Heard and Tessa Quewezance for their service and dedicated contributions.
Over the past several years, Jen has contributed to CEUG at many conferences and in particular, she championed the track chairs for CEUG 2019 and ensured sessions ran smoothly. She has also been key in developing CEUG's social media presence in 2020 and 2021. As new opportunities are in her immediate horizon, she will be missed on the Board of Directors but will stay connected to the CEUG community.
Tessa, prior to joining the board, was a valuable contributor during the 2019 conference in providing assistance with our CEUG night out events and logistics teams as part of the planning committee.
CEUG is currently evaluating alternatives with respect to appointing new directors to fill the current vacancies. If interested or If you want to learn more, reach out to info@ceug.ca.
